Memorial Day is one of our most solemn and introspective days of the year for our country. We have other national days set aside…some are festive and celebratory, some are ones that as a country we look back at our history and our people and strive to do them justice and give them their honored place in our society.
But Memorial Day is the day that is set aside to honor our war dead and to remember them and what they sacrificed for freedom’s sake, and to give their lives and death meaning to all of us, all of us who are so blessed to be citizens of the United States of America. It is so important that we remember and honor them as their deaths shaped our past and present and more importantly will shape our future.
At this time, Military Family Report wants to pay our respects and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedom and prosperity that each American experiences first hand and to recognized that their sacrifices were not in vain and realize that but for them, we would not exist as a nation of free and independent people.
However, I’d also like to honor the families of the fallen military member. To these families who lost their loved one, it’s more than a time of reflection and gratitude, it’s a time of grief, of mourning, of coping and of living without their husband, their wife, their son, their daughter, their mom or their dad every day. These families experience first hand what a huge impact the loss of their loved one means to them and how their lives will change without them. They are the ones that are left to carry the loss of their family member with them wherever they go. The Military family is strong and resilient but each family still needs to have the backing of each and every one of us, especially on this day of remembrance.
God Bless you all and we pray that you find comfort in knowing that all of America stands with you.
